Supporting Education and Innovation.

  • The Midlothian ISD Education Foundation was founded in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity to support the educational programs for both students and staff of MISD. The Foundation works to provide funds for educational programs and activities that either have not been funded or have been under-funded because of budgetary constraints.

  • The mission of the Midlothian ISD Education Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to the Midlothian Independent School District. These resources will be used to enrich, maintain and expand programs needed to meet and/or exceed the district’s stated mission of educating students by empowering them to maximize their potential.

  • The Midlothian ISD Education Foundation works to increase private support for education activities at MISD which benefits students and personnel by supporting activities not funded by tax dollars. MEF fosters creative approaches to education through private grants, involvement and awards foundation funds. All of this is made possible through our volunteer board of directors made up of business, community and educational leaders.

PROGRAMS

Innovative Teaching Grants

Since 2005, MEF has awarded over $620,000 through Innovative Teaching Grants at Midlothian ISD. The grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize, and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches to the accomplishment of program objectives.

Continuing Education for Teachers

The Midlothian ISD Education Foundation provides support to teachers through two different scholarship funds for employees who are furthering their education. The Dolores W. McClatchey Teaching Scholarship is for teachers who are pursuing graduate-level degrees; while the MEF Paraprofessional Scholarship is for employees pursuing a degree in the field of education or a degree leading to a teacher certification.

Stars Banquet

Every year, the Midlothian ISD Education Foundation hosts a Stars Banquet that recognizes and celebrates the top 5% of graduating seniors in our district. It is our honor to support and recognize these amazing scholars and the educators that inspired them.
